Longtime friends and training partners, Bardstown brawler Jessie Jones and tough-as-nails trucker Big Rig Betty have finally teamed up! The pair first met on the indie wrestling circuits in Kentucky, and Big Rig Betty’s first ever match was against Jessie Jones. What started as a heated rivalry eventually grew into a bond forged in grit, guts, and mutual respect. Their journey took a pivotal turn when world renowned wrestling legend Tracy Smothers took Big Rig Betty and Jessie Jones under his wing. Smothers, a master of old-school wrestling, taught them not just the art of the ring but also how to navigate the rough-and-tumble world of the industry. He christened their team “Smothers’ Twisted Daughters,” and the duo became as inseparable as sisters.
When Smothers tragically passed away, their bond only deepened. Big Rig Betty didn’t leave Jessie’s side for a week, and to this day, they honor their mentor, who they affectionately refer to as “Pops”, with a toast of bourbon on Father’s Day, his birthday, and the anniversary of his passing—cherishing the lessons and love he left behind.
After sharing the road and the ring for almost 20 years, these two have countless stories and adventures to share. Traveling the back roads of Louisville to Nashville, and sharing countless dinners in the endless truck stops of the South, Jessie Jones and Big Rig Betty know each other like the back of their own hands. Both of these WOW Superheroes are unapologetically proud of their Southern attitude. From the back roads to the bright lights, Jessie Jones and Big Rig Betty are proving that when you fight for your roots, you can’t lose.
